Description and Purpose of the application:

MENTORA is an educational application necessary for every individual, student, teacher, and generally, anyone who wishes to study the Ancient Greek language in an easy and pleasant way, covering different aspects of the language.

It is basically an ongoing Ancient Greek database consisting of more than 120.000 entries, providing basic and important information for the words one might find starting from the Ancient Greek literature and even to original texts in Koine Greek up until 1.000 A/D.

The material included is a combination of individual research and collection of information through a thorough and comprehensive study of many great auxiliary tools in order to provide to its users unique and integrated knowledge, respecting the Ancient Greek language.

  • You can check the spelling of an Ancient Greek word
  • You can find the article, gender and the genitive case of a noun
  • You can find the feminine and neuter gender of an adjective, pronoun, numeral, participle and the genitive case when needed
  • You can find grammatical/morphological information of an Ancient Greek word
  • You can find what part of speech a word is
  • You can find synonyms as well as dialectic forms of a word
  • You can find the analysis and/or etymology of a word
  • You can search a word without the use of accents and breathings
  • There is autofill function and suggestions for, as well as concurrent appearance of results when typing a word
  • It gives you the ability to quickly find what you look for, to be sure that you have found what you looked for, and generally know when and how to use your lexicon
